Critically acclaimed, Yamandu Costa has delighted audiences wherever he took his unusual skill and sound. In his unforgettable performances – solo, accompanied by other musicians or orchestras – he carries the mark of the music from the south of Brazil but admirably combines it with different musical genres, forming a rare symbiosis with his seven-string guitar. Despite being young, Yamandu Costa boasts a long career.

He was born in a family of musicians in the South of Brazil. He hit the stage for the first time at the age of 5, singing; at age 6, he received his first guitar form his father; at 21 he won the Visa Instrumental Award, one of the biggest recognitions of Brazilian music which enabled him to record his first solo album. It was then that he began his fruitful career: he has recorded several albums, solo or in partnerships; has played many concerts in Brazil and all around the world; received important awards, including the latest, 2021, Latin Grammy for the best instrumental music album with Bachianinha: Toquinho e Yamandu Costa (Live At Rio Montreux Jazz Festival).
