An outstanding Polish conductor, as well as a violinist and chamber musician. The founder and director of AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy. The founder and a long-time primarius of the Silesian Quartet – a group which quickly became one of the most prominent string quartets in Europe. With AUKSO he performs contemporary, film, jazz and popular music; he is particularly fond of works which balance or cross the borders of genres. He participates in projects which expand the concept of orchestral music. He has performed with leading representatives of Polish electroacoustic music and foreign electronic music; he has collaborated with Aphex Twin and Jonny Greenwood. He has premiered works by such composers as Aleksander Lasoń, Zygmunt Krauze, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, Agata Zubel; he has conducted the premieres of all of Aleksander Nowak’s operas. He is a renowned interpreter of music by Wojciech Kilar, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Witold Lutosławski, Krzysztof Penderecki. He has conducted in Europe, Asia, South America, and recently also in North America, at New York’s Carnegie Hall. He has performed at leading Polish contemporary music festivals. He recorded works by Polish composers for the project “100 for 100. Musical Decades of Freedom” by PWM Edition. He recorded film music by Wojciech Kilar, Elliot Goldenthal, Jonny Greenwood, Paweł Mykietyn and Maciej Zieliński. Marek Moś is the winner of numerous awards, including: International Contemporary Music Competition in Cracow, the International Rostrum of Composers in Paris, the Award of the Polish Composers’ Union, Koryfeusze Muzyki Polskiej (Coryphées of Polish Music), as well as several statues of Fryderyk.
